Die Oberfläche der Schuhe besteht aus einem Ledergeflecht (Wildleder?), das sich nach nicht zu langem Gebrauch auflöst. Das bedeutet, dass die "Lederschlaufen" reißen und die Schuhe kaum mehr benutzbar sind.
