The skin on the feet is often irritated, which can lead to uncomfortable pressure points in conventional shoes. As well as being comfortable to wear, the aesthetics, function and durability of the shoes also play an important role. At BÄR, the shape of the shoe follows the shape of the foot - not the other way round, so that the foot can move freely in the shoe. Enjoy the cosy comfort of your new BÄR shoes.
We know how much of a burden the wrong shoes can be.
At BÄR, we design for the natural shape of your foot, not against it.
Developed for comfort, confirmed by our customers.
Dr Eickelmann, a specialist in orthopaedics, agrees with our philosophy:
"Maximum toe freedom, combined with the flexibility of a barefoot shoe (sole 100% natural latex), encourages the foot to co-operate. This promotes muscle development and flexibility of the ligaments and tendons in the foot."
"Extremely low flanks in the ankle area avoid pressure on the veins that run there, which are largely responsible for blood circulation in the foot. The increased blood flow ensures a better oxygen supply to the muscles. This increases the performance of the foot."
How do hallux valgus shoes differ from normal shoes?
They have a wider toe box, softer materials and a zero heel design to reduce pressure on the hallux area.
What are the right shoes for sensitive and demanding feet?
Finding the right pair of shoes is often difficult - especially with wide feet. In addition to style, colour and material, comfort plays a major role. That's why we offer a wide selection of comfortable shoes that fit perfectly and look modern at the same time.
Which material is suitable for shoes for hallux valgus?
Soft and elastic materials are essential for comfortable shoes. That's why we use soft and supple nappa leather or suede for many of our styles, which mould perfectly to wide feet.
How does hallux valgus develop?
Hallux valgus, a deformation of the big toe, is caused by the metatarsal bone pushing outwards. This leads to a painful widening of the front of the foot, especially when wearing tight shoes. The most common cause of this deformation is women's shoes with high heels. However, shoe models that are tapered towards the front or are too small also favour the development of hallux valgus.
How does misalignment occur?
The shifting of the body weight to the front part of the foot leads to a splayfoot. This lowers the front arch of the foot so that the toes lie flat on the ground and spread outwards. This unnatural strain on the tendon causes the big toe to twist out of the metatarsophalangeal joint, resulting in hallux valgus. In addition, the other toes can also be affected and often also exhibit deformities.
How can I stay active despite hallux valgus?
To help you enjoy walking or running again, we have developed comfortable shoes that are not only very comfortable, but also perfectly cushioned. The removable insoles can be taken out of the shoe after active movement so that you can simply put them out in the fresh air to air them out. Depending on your requirements, you can buy shoes from us that are more suitable for the city or easy routes or have been designed for more demanding terrain. The latter have special soles that give you particularly good grip and offer your feet optimum support even on somewhat uneven surfaces. Sporty comfort shoes are also equipped with cushioning that absorbs your weight with every step and makes you feel like you're walking on clouds!
Why do you need so much space in front of your toes?
In the morning, the foot is up to 4 mm shorter than in the evening because the muscles get tired during the day and the foot also gets longer. You have to take this into account, for example. On the other hand, it is important that the foot can roll freely. For this it needs sufficient width and sufficient length. If you bump into something, you compress the foot bones and cartilage.
