BÄR is a family-owned company that has been designing shoes since 1982 that are modeled after the natural shape of the foot—with room for the toes, a flat sole, and flexible soles. Since 1995, production has taken place in the company’s own workshop, where the shoes are crafted in up to 160 steps using specially developed lasts and a great deal of handwork. In doing so, BÄR emphasizes manufacturing under socially responsible and environmentally sound conditions, as well as responsible, fair practices throughout the entire production process. The result is long-lasting comfort that doesn’t “soften” the foot but allows it to move naturally—for shoes that perform just as well in everyday life as they do on long days on the go. At the same time, every model features a clean design that is thoughtfully crafted down to the last detail.
