BÄR Shoes and You Forget You're Wearing Shoes
If you are looking for shoes that not only look good but also feel great, then you have come to the right place. Our shoes are the result of over 40 years of experience and passion for craftsmanship. Our philosophy at BÄR Shoes is simple: your feet deserve the best. That is why we focus on anatomical fits and high-quality materials that guarantee an unparalleled wearing experience. Every step in a BÄR shoe is a treat for your feet.

Dr Eickelmann
Dr Eickelmann, a specialist in orthopaedics, agrees with our philosophy.
"Maximum toe freedom, combined with the flexibility of a barefoot shoe, encourages the foot to work together. The muscles and flexibility of the ligaments and tendons in the foot are thus promoted. In BÄR shoes, the toe and heel areas are at the same height, which results in even pressure on your foot. The anatomical balance of your spine prevents postural problems and tension in your back, head and neck. The intervertebral discs are relieved and the joints are protected."
Quality you can feel
Each of our shoes is made with the utmost care. We use only the best leathers and materials to ensure durability and comfort. Our handmade shoes undergo strict quality controls to ensure you receive only the best.
Shoes should fit your foot, not the other way round. That's why BÄR uses high-quality leather, as it's the only material that moulds perfectly to your foot like a second skin. The leather stretches, absorbs moisture from your foot and also looks elegant. Leather is a natural product that has been used for hundreds of years and is extremely durable if cared for properly. We always use the appropriate material depending on the requirements and function. Textiles are also often integrated into the construction of our shoes. For example, the TransEuropa 2.0 model has a very robust and durable combination of materials: a mix of functional textile with water-repellent cowhide suede and a breathable textile lining.
"No animal has to die for our shoes" - Christof Bär
Ethical sourcing and transparency
"No animal has to die for our shoes," emphasises Christof Bär. "Wild animals are hunted for forestry and species conservation reasons in order to regulate the balance between fauna and flora. Farm animals are used for food, leather is a by-product that is highly valued in our shoe production."
At BÄR, management knows its suppliers personally and regularly visits their facilities to check material quality and production conditions. Both must fulfil the company's quality and sustainability criteria in order to be suitable for the production of BÄR shoes.
