Our selection of sizes & fits
Shoes should fit the foot - not the other way around. Many women choose sizes that are too small, men too large.
With over 44 years of experience, BÄR knows that real comfort starts with the perfect fit - without any break-in. Thanks to handmade quality and low shoe sizes, you can find your individual fit effortlessly.
Each product description contains information on the right foot type - for your natural barefoot feeling.
Comfort starts with the right width
- Even with the right size, slipping shoes or tight toes can be uncomfortable.
- The width of the shoe is crucial for comfort and stability.
- It shows how much space the ball of the foot and toes have.
- This helps you to recognize which shape really fits your foot.
Find your perfect fit
BÄR Natural
Natural is suitable for normal to wide feet and offers enough space for the toes. It has a slightly flatter cut in the forefoot area than the Comfort version.
BÄR Comfort
Comfort offers normal to thicker feet a little more space and ensures comfortable freedom of movement.
BÄR Comfort Plus
Offers maximum freedom with more height and width, no pressure points - perfect if your feet simply need more space without restriction.
Measure your feet in the evening when they are slightly swollen.
Stand barefoot and wrap a tape measure around the widest part of your forefoot.
Note the measurement to find your best fit and comfort.
The consequences of shoes that are too tight:
Foot deformities
Shoes that are too tight force the toes into unnatural positions and lead to deformities such as hammer or claw toes. Splayed or flat feet also exacerbate the problem.
Constant pressure causes pain and calluses - and makes it increasingly difficult to find shoes that fit.
The width of your shoe
Shoe width ≠ Shoe width
The shoe width determines the overall volume of the shoe, while the shoe width describes the space at the ball of the foot and for the toes. Only sufficient width prevents constriction of the toes - crucial for comfort and to prevent foot deformities.
Relief for every foot
Shoes that are too tight not only damage your feet, they can also cause postural problems and back pain. Your feet are the foundation of your body, and with 100% toe room, they stay relaxed. Enough space allows your toes to balance with every step and avoid strain and discomfort.
